Phoenix/Firebird totem, but terrified of fire?

I think that my totem or spirit guide is a Phoenix/Firebird. I have red hair and a circular ring on my forehead that no one knows where it is from. But I am absolutely terrified of fire and HATE being hot. If I'm at all warm I am usually miserable. I get hot feet at night and I can't sleep. So how can that be my totem? Confused :(
