Car making weird noise?

i have a rear wheel drive firebird and i just had my pinion baring replaced. i drove it 2 hours back home and put it in reverse in my driveway. when i started to roll back by not pressing the gas, it made this clicking noise in the rear. not only tht but the wheels yes both did it, jerked. i called the shop and they said to retourge the wheels... is this correct?
