Brown stringy clump after sweep. Normal?

I had a stretch and sweep this morning at about 10am. I've had brown blood loss all day (not heavy, just like the first day or the last day or so of your period). But a biy brown clump came out (sorry tmi). Is that normal?? Doc said i started at 1cm and see stretched me to 2cm. My between 50 - 75% effaced and my cervix is medium soft and has started moving down (it's right in the middle now rather than post). I'm 40wks +3days.
