1989 firebird 350 help with starting?

hey i just bought this firebird with a rebuilt engine but i think the guy screwed me and put some old parts back in...okay heres whats wrong when the car is cold it will start u right away but if i have been driving it for a awile and i turn it off it wont start.. so i usually have to wait for it to cool down before it will start again..
