Will we ever be together?

ok the guy i like right now has his own theme song(hot and cold. lol)and everytime i ask him if he wants to go hang out together he says sure then like the day of for before he ditches me for a excuse.(for my birthday he told me he was going to a funeral and then i was talking to him online and his friend was there and they were drinking soda in the backyard....)and then i asked him if he wanted to be an item and he said sure, then later that day I told my friend and she didnt belive me and asked him and he said that he never said that and he has done this 2 or 3 times. Ditch him or just wait?
