When using an external for Sims 2 where are my saved games located- external or my laptops harddrive?

I own all the EP and SPs of Sims 2 and use an external hard drive to save space for play. I want to switch everything over to a desktop, but I do not know where to copy the Sims 2 folder from - my external or the files off my C drive
